Bad experience i had in this place hotel sharolyn tara palace near mg marg gangtok after checking in hours later came to knew this hotel has not fully started and during day time till sun settled drilling machines disturbed us Elevator not worked hotel lacked amenities like calling to reception ,cable tv balcony door not properly closed which means cold waves did not let us sleep during my 3 nights stay nobody came to clean room as i already told that hotel has not fully started so restaurant was also not operational so the travel agency which duped us arranged breakfast for a small time hotel tuchit just opposite to hotel tara whose manager mr. chand was an associate of hotel tara and travel agent situated at siliguri railway station although manager was a good person of tara palace but he had his limited resources

We had stayed in December in mountain having suite room. The room was reasonably spacious, clean and adequate amenities. Probably it is one of the hotel which has AC in rooms. The service staff and manager are quite helpful wearing a smile on their face. The best part is the view of mount Kangchenjunga from the restaurant and rooms. Opt for a mountain view room and one will not regret it on seeing early morning sunrises. The spread of buffet is quite reasonable and so is the buffet options of dinner. It is walkable distance from MG Road, market area and reasonably warm inside during winters. You might need a room heater rather than the AC during December in a mountain facing room!! With the setup they have, can very well reach the status of a 5 star hotel if certain more facilities are added.

Rooms : Excellent , very Big Balcony view is awesome Management was very Bad --Had booked Buffet Breakfast but did not provide us Breakfast because all Hotel staff was busy in serving larger group of guest who had booked many rooms --Hotel Charged us extra 800 Rs for Child even if child was sharing Bed with us. --Hotel Property and location are great but management is bad. -- TV was not working in all the rooms , they provided set top box on second night --No hot water kettle for drinking water in the room -- Hot water for Bath is available only during limited period of time and not full day
